Must buys

The internet holds many great products for people with enough money and those without. While I can’t buy any, I do enjoy wanting them. 150 years ago, I would be the stereotypical boy with the ripped gloves, the dirty scarf and clothes, who looks through windows, constantly yearning for that toy train or missile launcher. But, I digress. Anyway, here’s my pick for this post:

Fate/Stay Night (and sequels)
Fate/Hollow Ataraxia: Matou Sakura 1/8 Scale PVC (Figure)
I’ve mentioned this before, this is a wonderful figurine. It’s a combination of regular Sakura and Dark Sakura. It’s an Alter, and that alone should explain why it’s of such a good quality. It’s $34.99. Get this now, since it’s not manufactured anymore! *cries, because I know I won’t get one*

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Official Fan Book
The “Official” fan book for the goddess that is Haruhi Suzumiya. It’s not about just her, but the series that she is a part of. It’s in Japanese. While I don’t really mind (honestly, it’s good practice), it might be a problem for you, dokusha (that means “reader”). 127 pages, $18 and a must buy.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: Promise Fan Book
Yes, another fan book. The only difference is that this is a Promise Fan Book. By that title, I think it’s safe to assume that it has more fan service than the “Official Fan Book.” It’s $3 dollars more, has less pages, but also possibly has fan service. Not only that, but the cover is insanely cute.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: Messenger Bag - Sexy Haruhi
A must-buy for any fan of Haruhi. I’m thinking of getting this and using it as a book (school) bag. Of course, I’m going to ask administration (I might ask a concealer, since they seem more… polite towards these kinds of things) before I actually do use it. If I can’t, then I’ll just… do something with it. :/ I’ll cherish it, for it’s a good bag. $35.00, single strap and sexy Haruhi included.

Warhammer 40,000 (informally, Warhammer 40K)
The Killing Ground by Graham McNeill
A fantastic read. In it contains one of the most surprising moments I’ve ever read. Not a twist, but a surprise. Read it and find out. However, only people familiar with Warhammer 40,000 history will find the surprise and know it’s significance. It has nothing to do with Warhammer 40,00 plot over all, but you will be surprised (if you support humanity, that is).

That’s all for now.

The Force Unleashed demo - my experience

In my previous post (best phrase ever), I mentioned that I had and intend to play the The Force Unleashed demo. Well, to be blunt… IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME. The story basically goes like this: Darth Vader has an apprentice, and the Emperor cannot know about him. The latter part explains why this guy was killing everyone no matter where he went. Only one mission is in the demo, but you can experience almost everything the game has to offer (I shouldn’t say everything, since it’s a demo, and they wouldn’t want to spoil the game, right? ^^). One surprising feature is that you can level up. Yes, you read that right. The more you use your force powers, the better your guy (I’ll just call him “character”) can use them, and eventually more powers are available for you to play with.

The Force Unleashed Trailer

Now, what about the combat? Highly addictive, expertly done, and not at all boring. Not only can you kill soldiers with your light saber, you can use a combination (otherwise known as a “combo move”) of your light saber and two force powers: lightning and push. Just like in a fighting game, this requires a number of button combinations. I suggest you play through the demo first, and then play it again but with fighting these combinations in mind:

4 Square
1 Square + 2 Triangle
2 Square + 2 Triangle
3 Square + 1 Triangle
1 Square + 1 Circle
2 Square + 1 Circle (Personal favorite)
3 Square + 1 Circle

The graphics be noted as well. The explosions are magnificent. In fact, I’ve never seen a game that had such good looking explosions (they’re on par with World in Conflict). The Force Push’s physical manifestation is undebatably awesome and gives the Star Wars universe more of a hard-core sci-fi feel. They remind of those cannons the Geonosians used, only cooler and a better color (they’re a mix dark blue and a lighter blue, sort of like cyan).

Finally: my favorite part of the game? I can cut a freaking AT-ST in half. Literally.

All in all, a must buy. If you would like to try it, then you can download it from the PlayStation Store. It’s over a gigabyte (1000 megabytes), so make sure you have something to do while you wait!!

Regarding the comments…

I know, I haven’t been on here for awhile. I’ve been so busy (most of my time is actually related to the site). Anyway, when I got back here, I was surprised that two people actually regularly read this blog. The bad news is… I accidentally erased all the comments! Please forgive my clumsiness! I appreciate the non-spam comments (one note, though: when I mean “speak in English,” I mean using the English language, not the English alphabet!)

In other news, I might be absent again. I have to make a Native American model for History class (I’m going to make it out of modeling clay), and to top it off, I’ve been playing Mabinogi a lot (I erased my first character, and I am currently in love with my current character) and will soon most likely get addicted to the Force Unleashed demo I just downloaded to my PS3. A possible review of the demo will come, depending on my experience (the only reason(s) why I won’t write one is because it’ll either be fun or not worth it).
